Every year, Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli facilitates the International Exchange of Youth Delegations conducted by Department of Youth Affairs – Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Government of India), which is aimed at creating an international perspective in the youth and to involve them in promoting peace and understanding. The students from various prominent institutes such as IIMs, IITs and NITs, AIIMS and various other institutes; as well as Youth Organizations of Ministry such as National Youth Awardees, NYKS (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan), NSS (National Service Scheme), RGNIYD (Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development), etc are nominated and considered for various delegations to friendly countries for encouraging exchange of values, ideas and culture amongst the youth of different countries.
Indian Institute of Management Trichy assists the Ministry in the program by sending out a list of competent students from the institute for the Youth Delegation, depending on the invitation it receives for the program from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, usually once or twice a year. Many students from the institute previously have been provided the opportunity to participate in the Delegation to countries such as South Korea, China, Russia, etc.
