Dr. Gajanand is an Associate Professor in the Operations management & Decision Sciences Area. He holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai and a Ph.D. from the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He worked for Ernst and Young Global Shared Services, Bangalore before joining the Ph.D. programme.
 
At IIM Tiruchirappalli, he teaches students at the Master's and Doctoral level, including working Executives at the Chennai Campus. He offers courses on Operations Research (Management Science), Operations Management, Decision Analytics for Managers, Business Decision Modelling, Simulation-Based Analytics and Optimization & Heuristics. Dr. Gajanand has also taught in various Management Development Programmes and Faculty Development Programmes. He believes in the concept of "learning-by-doing" and adopts the same through his experiential learning pedagogy.
 
His research interest is in the field of Distribution planning and Green logistics, and has various publications in reputed International Journals and leading International Conferences. He is one among the editors of the book titled “Sustainable Operations in India”. He is in the Doctoral Committee of Ph.D. research scholars in various reputed institutes. He is also a Lifetime Member of the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI) and the Society of Operations Management (SOM).
