Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT) is happy to announce the first Faculty Development Programme (FDP) 2019. In order to enhance the teaching and research skills sets of management teachers, IIM Tiruchirappalli’s FDP is a one-week residential programme, specially designed for faculty members of management education and training institutes across the country.
The programme is managed and delivered by a mix of faculty from IIMT and guest faculty from industry and other institutions for an intensive exposure to case method of teaching, writing case studies and quality research. The programme duration is from April 29 to 3rd May, 2019. The last date for receipt of completed application form is April 15, 2019.
About IIM Trichy:
Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT) is the eleventh IIM and was instituted on 4th January 2011. IIMT is functioning from its sprawling state-of-the-art campus spread over 175 acres of land on Trichy-Pudukkottai highway, about 11 km from Tiruchirappalli International Airport. The usage of technology in classrooms is an important talking point across the campuses. At IIM Tiruchirappalli, fully air-conditioned SMART Classrooms are augmented with AV automation and acoustic treatment. It comprises of latest Audio-Visual solutions like HD Document Camera/Visualizer, Interactive tablets, DSP Mixers, centralized monitoring and control system, ceiling microphones, Ultra short throw Interactive Projectors, Full HD projectors, HD Cameras for capturing faculty and students etc. IIMT boasts about a collection of eminent faculty from institutes of repute across the country and globe.
Tiruchirappalli also known as Trichy is a city known for its prominence in education, spirituality, art and culture. It is the fourth largest city as well as the fourth largest urban agglomeration in the state of Tamilnadu. Tiruchirappalli is located almost at the geographic center of the state. Tiruchirappalli's recorded history starts in the 3rd Century BC and it was under the of the Cholas. Followed by the Cholas, the city has also been ruled by the Pandyas, Pallavas, Mutharaiyars, Viajyanagar Empire, Nayak Dynasty and the British. The most prominent historical monuments in Tiruchirappalli are Rockfort, Ranganathaswamy temple in Srirangam and Jumbukeswarar temple in Thiruvanikaval. Uraiyur, the archaeologically important town, then capital of the early Cholas, is now a suburb of Tiruchirappalli.
About the Programme:
The Faculty Development Program of Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli is conceived and formulated with the following twin objectives:
- To strengthen the teaching and research skill sets of the current and prospective faculty member / academician / trainer
- To help the teachers to understand case method of teaching as well as facilitate them in writing their own case studies and getting it published.
The programme is designed as a fully residential program for the better learning purposes.
The program is meant for the current and prospective faculty members, research scholars of management Institutes, university departments, degree colleges, professional and staff training centers of business houses, staff training institutes of central and state governments. The programme is helpful for participants, who teach management and related subjects such as commerce, accounting, economics, human resources, labor relations, organizational behavior, marketing, statistics, operations, banking, finance, computer applications, strategy, sociology etc.
As the programme is highly interactive and collaborative among the participants and accordingly the batch size is restricted to maximum sixty participants.
The programme consist the following module:
a) Case method of teaching
b) Case writing and publishing
c) Innovative teaching methodologies
d) Developing research skills
The fee is Rs. 23,600/- (Rupees twenty-three thousand six hundred only, Programme Fee Rs.20, 000.00 plus GST at the rate of18%).
The above fees include the following:
- Boarding and lodging during the programme in the students’ hostel, single occupancy a/c room with common toilet/bathroom facilities*
- Tuition fees, course materials, case studies, access to library during the programme, meals, etc.
- However, travel, medical, personal, and all other expenses have to be borne by the participants.

How to Enroll:
The applicant interested to participate in the programme shall enroll themselves / nominate their colleague(s) / sponsored by their organisatiation by filling the application form.
The filled in form may be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org along with scanned copy of program fee remittance proof (indicating transaction id or UTR no) and resume.
Participants are required to complete the application form, with relevant details, confirmation of fee payment details, attach a recent resume and send the application pack in hard / soft copy to the following address. Last date for receipt of completed application form is 15 April, 2019. Incomplete applications or applications without confirmation of fee payment would not be considered.
* Those who need accommodation with attached bathroom/toilet facilities, can book in the Institute Executive Residence by booking one month in advance, by paying separately Rs.1500/- per day.

How to reach Tiruchirappalli:
By Air: The participants can reach either Chennai Airport or Trichy airport. Major public and private domestic airlines operate regular flights to Trichy from different parts of the country.
By Road: Trichy is located at convenient distance from significant cities in south India. An extensive road network connects the town with Bangalore (345kms), Madurai (142kms), Chennai (320kms), Ooty (302kms).
By Train: The railway station in Trichy lies on in between Chennai and Madurai. Both these stations are in turn connected to the rest of the country by several important trains.
